Guitar and Them Kids October 22, 2009
So I bought a guitar. And the story goes like this…
I went to this shopping mall, AMU, and went to the music store. I already knew which guitar I wanted. The cheapest one! But I had trouble getting someone to help me. Most of the employees were busy. So I decided to come back at a bit later. I came back and finally asked someone who was free. I asked them in Japanese, “what is the cheapest guitar”. They showed me the guitar (I already knew which one he was going to show me). From there I said, “I will buy it”. I didn’t really have to ask any questions or try out the guitar. I just wanted to buy this guitar. Only because I have been waiting to get a guitar for a while now. At first I was going to get a guitar from my friend’s girlfriend, Kaharu. She couldn’t find the guitar, which was unfortunate. I was going to ask people from the office if anyone had one. Instead, I couldn’t wait anymore. So I just picked a day to get this guitar and got it. I got it for a good price too, 10000Yen (~$100). I don’t plan to bring it back to Canada. I’ll probably either sell it or give it away before I leave. But for now, I am practicing when I get home after work. The thing is I can’t play too loud at night. So I have to strum lightly with my thumbs. My fingers are starting to hurt from holding down the strings. But no pain no gain. To practice, I am using the internet to learn different chords. Youtube is awesome for that. Other than that, I’m glad I got this guitar.
As for other things that are going on in my life. Last Monday and Tuesday, these “kids” were up all night having a party in the apartment. And when someone has a party, it means lots of laughing and rowdiness. Not only that, they are up all night until like 4am having a good time. They were outside on the balcony, so you could hear everything. I mean it’s understandable to have a good time and party. I have nothing against it. But early on in the week is just stupidly rude. I couldn’t sleep at all. I’m sure everyone else in the apartment complex were up all night too. The funny thing is, later that week everyone received a letter from the landlord saying that people were making too much noise at night. haha. That letter gave me a smile. I’m sure the letter was directed to those “kids”. As Sam Roberts would say, “Them Kids”.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh U GOT A GUITARRRRRRR!!! hahaha weren’t we supposed to teach ourselves that too?! lol damn.. we planned to do so many things together yet we never got to do it
I want to buy one tooo, I just don’t have the money right now sigh… Play a song and record it as ur practicing k?!
ugh… why didn’t u complain about those them kids? I would have marched right on up there and complained! lol I guess that kind of stuff doesn’t really happen in Japan? In korea it’s crazy… if you’re walking around the house a lil too loud, say like stomping cuz ur mad or soemthing, u get a phone call right away. Which reminds me of another incident that happened not too long ago… we were celebrating my sis’s birthday and so we got a room. We weren’t being loud, and there weren’t even a lot of ppl.. i think there were five of them.. I wasn’t there yet. Apparently there were these two couples that were staying across from the room we were in. And they were banging on their door cuz they couldn’t get in… but when others poked their heads out to see who was making that noise.. those ppl were standing in front of our door… so those other people called downstairs and complained about OUR room! then the employee… who was very unprofessional… started yelling saying that they (my sis and her friends) had to leave right now. my sis and her friend went downstairs to clarify the situation. but the employee would not have it… started getting all excited and yelling at them to get out or that he was going to call the cops.. i mean.. my sis and her friend weren’t even yelling.. but the guy was getting all worked up.. it was crazy… this was happening as I came through the door with drinks (non-alcohol) and pizza in a box…. he comes dashing towards me asking, “what you have in there? ALCOHOL!?” i’m like.. geeee buddy relax.. no alcohol in here.. just pizza and drinks… you can check…*not that it’s any of his busineess!!! so yea, we ended up getting out cuz we had enough of that BS… and thankfully clynn opened up his house to us, so we moved the party there… WHEW… that was a long story… anyway… moral of the story.. don’t ever go to howard johnson… I was quite shocked that they hired someone who obviously does not know what customer service is… I would have expected better from such a huge chain.. but meh whatever…
gosh.. I miss you mikey~ my friends are going to japan in november.. I wish I can join them… but I will be in school
SO NOT FAIRRRRRRRRRR~~~~
p.s. we still need to have a skype date!!!

weather is getting very chilly here~ hope it’s not like that there~ dress warmly k!? MWAH ! LOVE YOU MIKEY~~~
Hey Joanna!! No worries if you didn’t reply. As long as you reading the blogs. hehe. nah!! Your studies are more important, that’s for sure. I hope you are feeling better now. Hang in there. I miss you dearly too. But ya I’m happy I got a long reply from you. =) But wow! That hotel really needs to come to Japan and learn some customer service. The customer service here is so awesome. I love it. Everyone is nice. Where ever you go. But that’s quite the story. It seemed like just a whole lot of misunderstanding and ignorance from the hotel. As long you guys had fun after for ur sis’s b-day. As for the guitar, I’m working on it. I feel like I’m not getting anywhere. But I’m still trying for now. Practice makes perfect right? Hmm.. I’m not so sure on the recording part though. lol. We’ll see. Anyways, we should just pick a date and just do it. Just let me know when you are free.
