Small Update November 4, 2009

It’s been a while since I last updated. So here it goes…

The days are getting cooler in Japan. I have turn the heater on now. And I didn’t bring that many warm clothes. I thought Kagoshima would be really hot. Well it is hot, but it still gets cold. I’m going to have to buy some warmer clothes soon.

Last week I had a pretty eventful day. I was working and got this email on my phone. I look at it and it says “EARTHQUAKE”. I’m like “huh?”. I ask my supervisor, what is this? As soon I show him, I feel a sudden shake. It lasted maybe 2 seconds. I know it wasn’t long but it was my second earthquake I felt in Japan. So it was quite the experience! hehe… Later, the office had a baseball game. It was our team vs another team. It was fun. And we won! But the bad part was the volcano erupted. So ash was flying all over the place. It was actually really bad. When I was going home, I could barely keep my head up. I had to cover my face because ash was getting in my eyes. My clothes was covered in ash. Not a great way to end the day.

Yesterday, there was a holiday. It’s called Ohara festival. The thing was that the holiday landed in the middle of the week. So going back to work the next day felt weird. Anyways, Ohara is a dance festival. So, down at Temmonkan they closed the whole street and people were dancing on the street. It was pretty cool. A lot of people were dancing to this old Japanese folk song. I was with my 80 year old grandma, Ishiguro-san. She invited me to go watch a jazz performance. And on the way to the concert hall we saw the festival. The jazz performance was pretty good too. Nothing professional but still good. Later, I had dinner with Ishiguro-san. We had sushi. It’s been a while since I had sushi. It’s funny how I live in Japan and I’ve rarely ate sushi. Well it does expensive.

I finished watching the “King of Queens” series. 9 seasons all together. I’m now watching a Korean drama. So far, the drama ain’t that great. I’m thinking of stopping and watching a different one. But which one?

Not much going on this post. Just an simple update and to remind me of my adventures in Japan. =)

Hey Mikey! Sorry I haven’t visited your blog in a while! I can’t believe you experience earthquakes and volcano eruptions on a regular basis! That’s crazy! I wonder if they have special jackets, sort of like rain jackets, to protect your clothes from volcano eruptions? That’d be pretty cool!

Anyhow, it’s been crazy busy for me the past couple of weeks! i ran the Nike 10K which was an awesome experience! My partner and I beat our time by 5 minutes! We’re still running regularly right now! i’m thinking of pushing to try a half marathon next year! 10K was pretty hard, but I want to challenge myself to try even harder! We’ll see how training goes over the winter!

My company launched our new website last week! Come check it out! http://www.redskyperformance.com…my sweat, blood and tears went into working on this website! Hahaha

I just came back from a retreat from my church! It was crazy fun! I haven’t been to a retreat in ages, and this one was really well organized so we had a jam packed schedule! The highlight of the retreat was when we played capture the flag! I went all the way around the campus and hid off the road that was behind the team and ended up finding the flag without them knowing! I started to make my way back and then when they saw me with the flag, I beat them to the boundary line to win the game for my team! BEST feeling ever! All the guys were stuck in jail so it was up to the girls to win the game! It honestly felt like the World Cup or something! hahaha!

You should watch Iris! It’s a new Korean drama that involves an investigation group like the CIA or something. I haven’t been watching it consistently, but my entire family is hooked on it! If you want something more lighter, then there’s this other one about a boy-band with a girl that’s pretending to be a boy. I can’t remember the name. It’s not thatttt great, and I dunno if guys will like it much haha. Girls watch it cause the guys in the drama are hot! hahaha and the girl is cute too! Or, you could always resort to watching korean shows like Family ga dut dda! That’s a pretty funny one~

Anywho, miss you tons Mr. Mikey! My mom went to Korea a couple weeks ago and is coming back today! I think she said she had a stopover in Japan but I don’t think it’s enough time to go see you=) We should speak soon! I’ve reconfigured my room so my computer is more easily accessible! Let’s plan a Skype date okay? Let me know when!

It has so much content. =P I’m glad you had fun at the retreat. I haven’t gone to a retreat in so long. And you got to play CTF!! I’m so jealous. haha. But I’m so proud that captured it!! Good job!!
